Kilgore experimented with patterns, materials and construction that were revolutionary for the era and also known for his design versatility.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Nike Air Flow<\/strong> was born in 1989 and Kilgore\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s statement solution was, to provide runner\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s with what they needed \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 a breathable shoe combining new cushioning with superior comfort and support. Kilgore literally used the stuffing for the sole of an early <strong>Nike Air Flow<\/strong> prototype, with comfort inspired by a plush Teddy Bear. The concept evolved and with an upper reminiscent of Nike\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s original marathon shoe, the Nike Sockracer which coincidentally had no outsole, blended with a new outsole featuring flex grooves and responsive cushioning.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Nike Air Flow<\/strong> inspired future Nike running shoes including the Huarache, Presto and Free, due to the breathable and minimalistic upper construction.<\/p>\n<p>Nike Sportswear will re-release the <strong>Air Flow<\/strong> for the second time now in two original colorways (<strong>Photo Blue Voltage Cherry Summit White<\/strong> and <strong>Anthracite Black Summit White<\/strong>) fitting of the late \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u015380s, built to withstand the rigors of a marathon, yet bold enough to turn heads worn casually.
